Coupa things....
Double batch of banana bread dough will not fit into either of my glass bowls; the popcorn bowl had to be pressed into duty.
*whine* I reallyreallyreally want a Kitchen Aid Artisan mixer (cobalt blue if we're being picky) 'cause mixing that banana bread dough was really too much for my poor old ancient electric hand mixer.
But there's one loaf each of plain, one with pecans and one with pecans, coconut and chocolate chips in the oven now.
One important note: having a habit of shaking out old gardening shoes before putting them on is a GOOD thing...especially with a history of seeing an occasional brown recluse around the house. *shudder*
And I don't think I'm gonna get a new bodice done for this weekend but I'm still gonna try.

Envy, they name is Kitchen-Aid
I remember my grandmother's old mixer (and if it's not a Kitchen-Aid then my memory is playing tricks on me), and the fond stories she told of it being an anniversary present. My mother's mixer was a wedding present. I guess it's fitting, since they are so intimately involved in the nourishment of the family on a practical level, and are one of the few kitchen gadgets that really are likely to last a lifetime of the recipients :)
Geez, listen to me - waxing rhapsodic over a mixer. Yeah. I'm smitten :)
Re: Envy, they name is Kitchen-Aid
And I may have to add "oven" to the list, or at least to the list of things that need a repairman. At the oddest times, like NOW, it won't keep the heat after preheating.
But hey, at least it's not Thanksgiving as it was the first time it did this!
Re: Envy, they name is Kitchen-Aid
I keep saying that one of these days I'm going to replace my standard microwave with a convection oven. Or get a toaster oven. Or both.
So far, none of the above have materialized - I wish I had a spare oven to send you though :(
Re: Envy, they name is Kitchen-Aid
I just need to get the repair guy out here to look at it. YAY, it just beeped so that the pre-heating is done!

Where is the cobalt blue one? Mine's white, but then my kitchen is tiny and i have to preserve the illusion of space by having everything be white.... I bet that blue is GORGEOUS!

Actually the recipe calls for black walnut extract and chocolate raspberry chips; hard to find but OH so good in this. 'Course, I've not had any complaints with the just plain chocolate chips.

That said, having used them daily for several years for a purpose far more brutal than anything you will ever put them through, I can attest to their hardiness and handiness.
