OH, and that is Nancy, Charles' 'faire sister'...wonderful woman who came all the way out from California for the weekend, the dedication of the grove and to do the first weekend. She's been doing that watermelon bit at California faires for years and years.

Date: 2007-06-27 04:29 am (UTC)One of these days, i'd love to see you do a brief series wherein you simply turn, have a pic, turn a bit more, have a pic, etc for at least four, if not six pictures, with you *just* fitting in the frame, so i can REALLY see every detail. That gown is just sumptuous. SO well done. So elegant. You realize you were putting pretty much everyone else to shame.... but then, of course you were! *L* You're the QUEEN!
I can't wait to get back in here and see the rest tomorrow!!

Date: 2007-06-27 12:57 pm (UTC)And on page 17, the slender young man in the Scots regalia is the one I posted about who came over first thing to see me on Sunday. Cute, cute. His mother is the one in the pink; she said to me on the sly, "he HAD to get a costume to come out and see you!" The ruffled shirt and sorta-kilt and they'd even tried to cover his sneakers so he'd look just right. Ya just gotta love that! SO serious and solemn and trying to speak forsoothly....adorable!
*sigh* Little guys like that are why I do this....

Date: 2007-06-27 01:12 pm (UTC)He's giving both those dear ladies a gift; a pewter token in the shape of a heart with the initials "PAFOF" which is a bit he came up with the year I turned 40 whilst playing QG at KCRF. It means "Participants at Faire Over Forty" and the first one was given to me at morning meeting on Elizabeth's birthday.
As I said, he's a lovely man....and I'm most fortunate in my friends!
