Love you all and appreciate the compliment to my cooking, but I'm being inundated with requests for this recipe exchange thing. So my choice is not to play any of them; sorry.

I've got to get the thank you notes done and out.
I need to clean my house.
I MUST get the new sewing business samples started.
I need to get the older machine out and finish garments I've promised, if it works.

And I'm tired....so other than reading a bit and trying to get some of the images organized (if I can get my farking laptop go be online which is being a daily occurrence) I'm going to lay pretty low here for awhile.

Hugs, and hopes nobody minds too much. I need some recovery time here! KCRF is wearing me out more than usual this year.

Rock on, LeoQueen, rest, rest, rest and of course, work. You do what you need, the world will still be turning, Charlie Brown. You're starting a sewing business? I miss so much when I'm asleep.

It's only that idea of putting it online that I've been talking about since '01. Finally really doing it. I'm burned out on custom fitting clothing and frankly, on churning out renfaire costumes for folk.

This will be two fold: musical instrument bags and then Ritual wear. Yep, stuff I can make and sell that doesn't have to be make with fittings with people coming to the house....strictly mail order.

Let's see....Wedding + Faire = Total Exhaustion. Yep, that's about right. I can't imagine having done the wedding thing with 7 weeks of performances. Ye Gads! My heart goes out to you...

Thanks, love.

I'm alright, but feeling it and going to take the time to rest and recoup. I mean, 29 years of death march parades will do it right there...

... Your to-do list is so tiny! Important stuff, yes, but it's so short!

Get some rest - you've more than earned it.

*hugs*

*grin* Well, it's the readers' digest condensed version of a to-do list!

But yes, I do think I need to rest. If I've learned one thing in 29 years of doing faire it is that if I don't rest when I'm this tired, I get sick. So yeah, rest. And start getting into better shape!

Most people know not to send me those things that require me to do something and send it back to them and forty-seven other people. 1) It is not something I want to spend my valuable time doing, and 2) I'm not going to make someone else feel guilty for not wanting to spend their valuable time on it. I am assuming that the recipe thing in question here is one of the ones I got once. And an additional reason for not participating in the recipe thing 3) I don't think people really want my recipes as most of them include, "Open up the box of Zataran's Dirty Rice and follow the instructions on the back of the box. For variation, try other methods suggested on the back of the box."

Well, I enjoy being a good cook and I do love sharing recipes but I get overwhelmed at the 'reply to' stuff and now just shy away from all of them.

Think it's also time for me to trim the newsletters and stuff I get too...

Work when you must, rest when you can, play when you are able to.

And hang in there. You make smiles daily, and that is never an easy thing (nor something to take for granted).

*hugs*

I got this from a friend last year and I think you'll appreciate it.

-When you listen to the airline safety announcements, they always say 'Please affix your own oxygen mask before assisting others'. Think about this for a moment. It seems terribly selfish to worry about yourself before you take care of the child sitting next to you, doesn't it? Here's the thing, though: if you go around helping everyone before you put your mask on you're going to asphyxiate, and you wont be able to help as many people. Also, you wont know how the mask thingie works. To help the greatest number of people, you MUST put your oxygen mask on first! This doesn't mean you are blind to others, you simply understand that you have to put yourself in a position of safety to be of use to them. By all means, once your oxygen mask is on be the mask-fairy to the entire plane; it is now of no detriment to your well-being.

When applied to life, this means that sometimes you have to let the problems of others fall by the wayside temporarily as you work on the things that will keep you going. It's not neglect, it's not a cop-out, it's not selfishness.... it's the only way to get maximum efficiency out of the system-

Le squish honeygirl!

Can Riley come and visit you Tuesday night? He's low maintenance and doesn't eat much. We've got a service appointment for the Tucson at the dealer in Broken Arrow. One of us will call you tomorrow.

And the room is reserved at O'Flaherty's - in the Alamo. I sent a check this evening. Ask Bruce about the latest development on that score...
