Yes, this is a real home and not gorgeous artwork of a hobbit-hole. Amazing!

Of course, it'd have to be adapted to be bigger, have the capacity for more power and be combined with stone...but, boy would I love to build something like this!

Also: *ping* [livejournal.com profile] juliegocrazy! Call me, ok? I need to talk with you about Pi's costume. With a little hard work, we can finish it so she can wear it on Sunday.

Very eco friendly. And the earth walls themselves would save a fortune on utilities.

Just an fyi.. the floor plans for Bags End, from the LOTR movie, are on line.

I've wanted to build a hobbit hole myself. ^_~`

Very cool! Not sure I'd want to share it with 2 housebound kids during rainy season, but absolutely enchanting.

Now I know how I'll spend my retirement :)

NO kidding....

Yeah, I really want a home something like this. Then of course, I also like Tudor style really really well...big shock there, huh?

Oh, gee. That is soooo appealing!

But all that found wood he used for support would be gone in a couple of years here in the Southeast. We have termites.

Yeah, we do too.....I'd thought of that. S'why I like stone so much! You could pre-treat and use a combo of stone and wood, I'd think.

'Course, getting the US building codes to pass it would be an entirely different thing!

Yeah, isn't that neat?

SO looking forward to seeing all of you at the end of the month; if not for the reason that I'm coming out.!
