*lol* We've been amazed at the number of connections that have occured there. Our fiddler, Becky and her hubby, Riley (whom you might more recognize as the flower-carving monk from KC and elsewhere) moved there last summer.

No, it really isn't *that* bad...

Parsons was a railroad town, named for a president of the MKT ("Katy") Railroad, and still serves as a maintenance hub and switchyard for Union Pacific. Most of the coal and grain cars that move through eastern Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas come in here and get routed to other parts of the country from here.

I am enjoying living here since our move last summer, and I definitely like teaching here. It's a good place to be.

Well, if I come to Conestoga to CD wench for you, I can certainly do it via Parsons that Thursday. I can't do Conestoga, though, without a place to stay. Getting a room plus gas would make it unfeasible for me. Poo to high gas prices.

So come to Parsons on Thursday and stay here, then travel with us down to Tulsa for the weekend. We might even be able to do some carpooling, if we work it that way, since Nikki will also be here and maybe others.

There are several around here, but I'll have to check on them.

There is a Best Western, a Super8, a Guesthouse Inn property, and a brand new Sleep Inn that is still being constructed.

I'll ask around - I have a meeting at school tomorrow morning and can check with some folks then.

Cool. That would be a good thing to post on LJ and on the QG yahoo group in case some more of our friends wish to travel for the concert.
